The 2011 Idea Book and Catalog has 13 new sets to choose from. Imagine yourself making some of these beauties!

I wanted to show you what some of the talented in house artists at Stampin'Up! created for this year's convention using our beautiful DSP. This first bouquet uses the Paisley Petals DSP.

These BIG blossoms were created using the Berry Blossoms DSP. Can't you just imagine these big, crinkly flowers in a girl's room or child's playroom!

This gorgeous lollipop bouquet is from the Flirtatious Specialty DSP. Unfortunately this paper is not available in the August promotion, only the regular Designer Series Paper. I will be demonstrating these this week, though.

This last bouquet was created from the Pocketful of Posies DSP.

The fan fold flowers are easy to make and turn out just as you see them here. I'll be showing you how to create your own this week so make sure to stop back.

October Pals Hop - Thankful Thanksgiviing!

Welcome to the October Pals Hop! This month we are showcasing Thanksgiving and thankfulness projects! If you've arrived from Angela Richwine's Stampin away with Angela, I'm stop number eleven on the hop and I'm thrilled you're here. I hope you find some great projects to inspire you as we enter the Thanksgiving season. If you get lost along the way, simply click on any link in the Pals Line-up and you will be back on course!

Now, on to my Thanksgiving projects!

Thanksgiving for some reason is my favorite holiday. I love the images and colors that are associated with this holiday. I love the story and history behind the holiday. And I love that it is as simple as being thankful! Setting the table is a big part of this holiday and letting your family and company know how thankful you are for them with these place cards is a perfect beginning.

The place cards are created on a 5"x5" piece of card stock scored at 2 1/2". The Very Vanilla piece is stamped with the sentiment from the Thankful For stamp set. The pumpkins are from the Autumn Harvest stamp set and were stamped on Watercolor paper using Black Stazon ink. I colored them using Blender Pens and Stampin' Write Markers. To make them a bit more 3-D, I cut a sliver of Garden Green card stock and wrapped it around one of the tools from the Distressing Essentials Kit. It looks just like pumpkin vines!

When I showed this project to my husband, he could not figure out what it was. Not good! Well I've added a hint in the picture to help. 3-D projects are always a favorite of mine. This ACORN container was created using the Pillow Box Die and the Big Shot. You can find the instructions I used here.

I wanted a lot of texture so the ACORN nut was made using Chocolate Chip Textured Card stock and the ACORN cap was made using 1" strips of Sahara Sand card stock embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing folder. The oak leaves were cut out with the Leaves #2 Die using More Mustard and Cajun Craze card stock and then embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

The sentiment in the picture is from the Thankful For stamp set.

This cute container can hold a special treat as a gift or even as a center piece!

Thanks for stopping by. I'd love to hear what you thought of today's projects, including my ACORN so leave a comment!

Now it's time to head over to Kris Kilcoyne's, Kweenbee site for some more great projects!

Introducing Stampin'Up!'s New Designer Fabric

Memo Board created using Deck the Halls Designer Fabric

The new Designer Fabric from Stampin'Up! is beautiful but, if you lack sewing skills as I do, it presents a challenge. Today's project was created by recycling an old memo board of my daughter's (she says she has out grown High School Musical & Troy) and my glue gun. I think I found this memo board in the clearance isles of our local WalMart for a few dollars.

After removing all but the old cover I cut my Deck the Halls fabric and adhered it using the glue gun. I used the Chantilly and Victoria Crochet Trim for my ribbon trim stapling them to the board where they crossed and adhering the ends to the back with the glue gun. The embellishments are Paper Daisies dyed in Riding Hood Red ink and a bit of alcohol and pearls from the retired Pretties Kit which is still available in the Clearance Rack under "Shop Now". To the back I attached a piece of butcher block paper covering all the gluing I did and then attached a picture hanger. Viola!

I hope you enjoyed today's project! Contact me if you have any questions. Don't forget to check out the Clearance Rack on my Stampin'Up! website under "Shop Now". There are still tons of bargains to be had!!

God Bless,

July Pals Hop ~ What's New at Stampin'Up!

Welcome to the July Pals Hop! This month we're featuring Stampin'Up!'s New Idea Book and Catalog & Colors for 2010 - 2011. If you've hopped over from Barbara Furlong's site, theloveofstamping, I'm stop number 4 on the Pals Hop. I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop" from blog to blog where you'll find inspirational ideas for papercrafted creations. Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-Up here and you'll be back on track.

My projects focused on the Level 1 and Level 2 Hostess Sets. By hosting a qualifying workshop or placing a qualifying order you can earn these stamps set FREE along with Hostess dollars to spend on Stampin'Up! products.

My first project was created using the stamp set, Because I Care.

The card base is Whisper White with a layer of Baja Breeze and Greenhouse Gala Designer Series paper. On the right side I layered a piece of a Top Note cut from another side of the Greenhouse Gala paper.

The flower is inked with Marina Mist for the flower onto Whisper White and Chocolate Chip on Chocolate Chip for the stem and leaves. These were paper pieced together.

The sentiment was inked onto a label from the Matchbox Die and dotted with a couple of individual flowers from the Because I Care stamp set.

This second project uses the stamp set Fast & Fabulous, a level 2 Hostess Set.

Papercrafting is a great creative outlet. I created this collage hoping to give it a distressed and old look. Taking advantage of all our great Embossing Folders I gave each image some texture by running it through the Big Shot after I stamped it.

I sponged the edges with River Rock ink to give it an aged look and roughed up the edges.

The entire picture fits inside an 8x8 Shadow Box I found at WalMart.

Well that's it for me! I hope you enjoyed today's projects. Now you are off to Gina Shaw's site, www.cardsbyginashaw.com. But before you leave I'd love you to leave a comment. I always love seeing who has stopped by!

Happy 4th of July!

Today's project is for our annual 4th of July party. I put cutlery in these but they could hold all sorts of things. Each one takes 1 sheet of card stock plus a little extra for decorations and suspenders. I also used 1/4" grosgrain ribbon to decorate mine.

I will try and get cutting instructions later today. This is not my design but my interpretation of the original project, Santa's Pants.

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July.

God Bless,

Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Real Red, Brushed Silver card stock

A Last Chance Project!

I am going to be out of town for the next 4 days. I thought you might enjoy some projects from friends and downline. See you next week!

Project by Margaret Massey

My sister made this coaster for me from a 4x4 tumbled tile. She used the stamp set Bloomin' Beautiful which will be retiring at the end of this month and inked it with Black Stazon. It was colored using a Blender Pen and Stampin' Pastels and sealed with a clear sealant to preserve the colors. I use it all the time and love it!!

She has also been trying her hand at using a larger tumbled tile as a trivet. I haven't seen a sample of these but if they turn out as great as the coaster it will make a beautiful gift!
Thanks for the gift, Margaret! I will have to give these a try!

The release of the new Stampin'Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog is right around the corner. I'd love to get a copy of this amazing book into your hands! Order your copy($9.95) directly through me (not on-line) and I will ship it priority for free as soon as it arrives here. I will also send the new Definitely Decorative & Summer Mini catalog and any future mini catalogs as they are released through next June.Contact me to order your copy today.

Stampin'Up! Folk Flowers ~ Got the Blues for PPA!

I'm always excited to be able to participate as a featured stamper with this great group of Stampin'Up! demonstrators. This week's challenge at Pals Paper Arts was to create a project using shades of blue.

I have been anxious to do more with the Stampin'Up! stencils so I created some home decor for this week's challenge. This stencil is the Folk Flowers stencil from the Occasions Mini catalog. It will still be available after the catalog ends April 30th.
I laid out my piece of Whisper White card stock taped at the corners and then taped the stencil over it to keep it in place as I sponged.
I used my Sponge Daubers and randomly sponged Ballet Blue, Bashful Blue, and Night of Navy over the stencil starting with the lighter colors. This is such an easy technique and the results really are unique.
The sentiment is from the Peace Within stamp set inked in Night of Navy and punched out with the Scallop Oval punch. I also punched out Picture Corners in Bashful Blue and Ballet Blue and added them to each corners.
The entire image is mounted on a piece of Night of Navy Textured card stock.
I hope you enjoyed my project. Make sure to check out all the great projects at Pals Paper Arts.Try your hand at creating a project using shades of Blues!

April Pals Hop ~ Happy Mother's Day!

To all the women who find themselves in the position of nurturing and mothering others, the April Pals Hop is for you!

If you've hopped over from Sumaiyah's, Stampin' Dymonz website, I'm hop number 8 on the April Pals Hop and I'm thrilled you stopped by! I hope you enjoy the entire Pals Hop and make your way all the way around! This group of Stampin'Up! Demonstrators, the Stampin' Pretty Pals, has put together some wonderful Mother's Day projects to spark your creativity. Should you become lost along the way you can access the entire lineup here!

I don't own a Mother's Day stamp set. Instead this set shouted "use me" for Mother's Day! I love his outfit and the way he balances "MOM" on his tray. He will definitely make his mom proud!

My recipe begins with a base card of Textured Melon Mambo(#115538) spiced up with Welcome Neighbor Designer paper (Sale-a-bration) a top a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock(#100459). The chef, from the Voila stamp set(#115102), was inked with Stazon Black ink(#101406) onto Whisper White(#100730) and 2 pieces of Welcome Neighbor Designer paper(Sale-a-bration). I then cut the pieces out using my Paper Snips(#103579) and adhered them on top of the Whisper White piece. (It was like cutting paper dolls)

The hearts and sentiment are from the Love You Much stamp set(113756), inked with Melon Mambo ink(#115656), and punched out with the coordinating 1/1/4" Circle punch(#104403) and Heart to Heart punch(#113694). The sentiment at the bottom shines with Crystal Effects (#101055) generously applied to the heart and allowed to dry (I gave it about 20 min to dry).

The final touch was "MOM" cut from Brushed Gold card stock(#102935) using the Big Shot(#113439) and the Stampin'Up! Billboard Decorative Strip(#114510) and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals(#104430).
Voila and Happy Mother's Day!!

This tin is for my mom this Mother's Day. She has many birthdays to celebrate and cards to send in a year and can now keep them organized in this cute lunch tin. Inside it is divided into family sections with a place to list each person and their birth date on the dividers.

For this project, I pulled out my Big Shot, Dies, texture plates, and Decor Element sheets and went to town. I love being able to make my own Decor Elements. The Big Shot cuts easily and the designs go on quickly. Each element on the tin is one of the dies we sell (see recipe below).

I found that the the textured dies worked just as well as the regular dies.

Dividers for card tin.

Well that's it for me! I hope my projects helped you get your creative juices flowing for Mother's Day! More inspiring ideas await you at Jason' Stampin' Pad, stop number 9 on the April Pals Hop! Hop on over and see what Jason has in store for you and thanks for "hopping" by!

And, before you "hop on", please leave a comment. I'd love to your thoughts on today's projects!

I love the new chalkboard Decorative Sign! But, first let me say the yellow spot in the picture is glare - my photography skills are in need of some help!

This sign acts as a communication board for our family. I've put dinner menus there, the older ones let me know where they are going, and the youngest leaves me pictures! It goes on and cleans up easy!

Renovating has given me the opportunity to use some of the Definitely Decorative Vinyl Art. I love my pictures and shelves but, I'm getting tired of dusting them. So, instead of putting some of my "stuff" back on the walls, I'm using the Definitely Decorative Vinyl Art instead. I love the clean uncluttered look!

The Decorative Sign is in the new insert to the Definitely Decorative catalog (previously Decor Elements) available January 5th. If you need a catalog and don't have a demonstrator or you shop on-line, contact me and I can stick one in the mail to you.

Decor Element Sheets & the Big Shot

Chaos is still running rampant at our home with remodeling dust. I just can't bring myself to stamp until I clean off all the dust. The project I'm sharing today is one I did with my eldest daughter. We took her laptop and decorated it using the Big Shot and Stampin'Up!s wonderful Decor Element Sheets.

This was my first attempt at making my own Decor Elements. The directions were pretty clear. We practiced on a small piece to make sure we knew what we were doing. After that, the hardest part was deciding where to place the daisies.
  • Using Daisies #2 die and the Big Shot cut a set of daisies out of Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue Decor Element Sheets. Using the Serif Essentials dies cut your initials out of Chocolate Chip Decor Element Sheets. HINT: To get your letters in the correct direction place the Decor Element Sheets face down on top of the die. A 2 1/2"x 2 1/2" square fits over each Serif Essential letter.
  • Cut a piece of the transfer sheet to fit the daisy. The transfer paper comes with the Decor Element Sheets. One side has a grid the other side has the transfer paper.
  • Pull the grid side off the transfer paper.
  • Place the daisy piece face down on the transfer sheet. Put the grid backing paper over it and using the Applicator Tool rub over the grid to make sure the piece is attached to the transfer sheet.
  • Remove the backing from the daisy and place the daisy where desired
  • Using the Applicator Tool rub over the transfer paper to attach the daisy to your surface. Peel off the transfer paper.
  • It really is that easy!
If you would like to create your own Decor Elements, see the recipe below. You can order on-line at my Stampin'Up! website 24/7 or contact me and I'll place it for you.

Make sure you check out all the new products in the Occasions Mini catalog, Sale-a-bration, and Definitely Decorative catalogs to the right.

Stamping on Candles

The highlight of this Sunday's For a Great Cause class was stamping on candles. The ladies that attended as well as myself were amazed at how easy this is and how clear and clean the finished candle is. Don't those snowflakes look like they are embedded in the candle?

Laurel has mastered Stampin'Up!s Heat Tool and created a beautiful Christmas gift using the Holy Family stamp set from the Holiday Mini catalog. There is a lot of detail to this stamp set and it turned out beautifully!

The little candle with the tree is adorable. Lynn used the little tree from The Jolliest Time of the Year stamp set. She stamped it with Garden Green and colored it in with Green Galore and Real Red Stampin' Write markers. She finished it off with a little star from the Hostess set, Patterned Pines inked in Yo Yo Yellow! Loved it!! Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of it but, it is adorable! I can't wait to try it.

I'll post the video on "Stamping on Candles" soon! I've got to sweet talk my video editor(husband) into putting it at the top of his To Do List! So stay tuned!

God Bless,
