Handmade Holiday ~ Checkin' Out the Thrift Stores

This may look just too simple but, these jars make great gifts. Go to your local thrift store and look for a variety of jars with lids. We probably found over 10 different jars, no two the same, at around $.50 each.

Wash them up and add your favorite holiday candy. Decorate them with some of our Satin ribbon, a tag using the Got Treats stamp set, and they are ready to give.

If you aren't ready to give them away, group them together as a center piece. The variety of jars and colorful candy makes for a colorful and eclectic look! Unfortunately, by the time I took this picture we had given most of them away but, you get the idea!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed today's project for a "Handmade Holiday". I'd love to hear your ideas for handmade gifts this holiday season! Leave a comment below.

God Bless,

Wrapping 101: #24 ~ Top Note Treat Toppers

Today's projects used the popular Top Note die for the Big Shot. This die is very versatile and makes a great decoration for cello bags filled with treats. These projects were created with a Halloween/fall theme but you could easily change them to meet any holiday or occasion.

Wrapping 101: #23 Tall Treats

These little treat holders are hiding "Cow Tales". and cookie sticks. The treat holders are 8 1/2" tall. This is another quick and easy treat holder which doesn't use up much material and does the trick holding the treats!

Adriana is Disguising Her Boys' Lunches

This cute Frankenstein is disguising treats or somebody's lunch. I love his facial expression! This project is easily adaptable to many occasions. I can see a Pilgrim, Santa, the Easter Bunny,... decorating these bags. I know the kids will love them!

This project was contributed by my friend and up-line Adriana over at Escape 2 Stamp. Check out her blog; she recently posted an awesome "crow" birthday card. Thanks Adriana!

Check back tomorrow for more Wrapping 101!

Wrapping 101: #8 Treats in the Pumpkin Patch

It's time to bring out the Big Shot!! Ooooh, and I love this box! I cased this project from Kelly Spivey over at splitcoast (kspiv is her splitcoast name). Can't you just imagine a class full of children getting these boxes as a Halloween/Fall party treat! Awesome idea Kelly!

This project is one of the many reasons I love Stampin'Up! From the BigXL Box #2 die, to the punches, to the Window sheets, to the phrases, to the paper, inks & adhesive these products work together perfectly, like....oreos and milk (well, you get the picture).

Change the paper, change the embellishments and phrases and you have a great favor for any holiday or occasion.

All project information including recipes and instructions will be made available at the end of the challenge. Also, if you have an idea you would like to share, check out this post for more information on participating.

See you tomorrow for some more Wrapping 101!

Wrapping 101: #5 Gum Wrappers

These cute slider boxes are holding packages of gum. What a great way to decorate gum packages. Lift the bow and see what's hiding! This is an easy project with a lot of adaptablility. I used Cast-a-Spell DSP but only the "happy" sides; the skulls had to stay hidden. I don't do scarey very well, just ask anyone in my family.
I love how the punch creatures turned out. The bear is copied from Angie Kennedy's pattern over at Chic'n Scratch.
All project information including recipes and instructions will be made available at the end of the challenge.

PPA5 & How to Hide Candy!!: Wrapping 101 ~ 1 & 2

These little guys are hiding full size candy bars. They have promised not to scare anyone and would much rather bring a smile to your children's faces. Frank is hiding a Kit Kat bar and Mr. Mummy has a Hershey bar with Almonds behind his wrapping. Great craft and treat for Halloween parties at school or home.

In September I'll be focusing on "101 ways to Wrap Candy". Join me as we come up with as many fun and pretty ways to disguise and decorate sweets as possible. I'll post detailed instructions on making these guys then.

The Pals Paper Arts challenge ,PPA, for today is a Halloween theme. My inspiration for this project came from Angie Kennedy over at Chic' n Scratch. Awesome woman! Check out all the projects at PPA and, we'd love you to play along as well!

Stampin'Up! Punch Spider & Mojo Monday 99

This Mojo Monday sketch just said "spider" to me. I have never been a great fan of Halloween but the new Cast-A-Spell Designer Series paper is really striking and fun. And if the skulls scare me, I just have to turn the paper over to something more pleasant on the back! I love Stampin'Up! Designer Series Paper!

The cute little spider came by way of Dawn Griffith at Dawn's Stampin' Thoughts. I didn't have the same size punches she had so mine is a bit different. The phrase is from Teeny Tiny Wishes which, as you can see below, covers many many occasions. It's a great set to have.

Now is a great time to get started on those approaching holidays! Begin thinking of homemade projects you would like to complete this fall. Don't let your list just stay a list! I'm full of ideas and enthusiasm to help turn yours into reality. As an on-line demonstrator I'm here 24 hours 7 days a week to give you ideas, suggestions, instructions, and place your orders!! Seriously though, your enjoyment of Stampin'Up! products and homemade projects are my number 1 priority. Contact me today I'd love to be your on-line demonstrator!

God Bless,

Spider Instructions:
The body is a 1 1/4" circle with a 3/4" circle for the head. The legs were made by first punching two ovals out of a black piece of card stock and then using the scallop oval punch, punching two frames out of the black paper. Cut the thin oval frames in 4 pieces and glue to the back of the body. The spider is mounted on a 1 3/8" circle. I used googly eyes and a white gel pen for details on the spider.

Recipe:
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes (#115370)
Ink: Perfect Plum Stampin' Write Marker (#102107)
Paper: Cast-A-Spell (#115677), Black (#102851), Old Olive (#100702), Pumpkin (#105117), Perfect Plum (#101889)
Misc: 1 3/8" circle punch (104401), 1 1/4" circle punch (#104403), 3/4" circle punch (#107217), Large Oval punch (#107305), Scallop Oval punch (#114889), Spiral punch (#108341), Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430), White Uni-ball Gel Pen (#105021), SNAIL (#104332)

Happy Birthday Margaret!!

Today is my one of my sweet sister's birthday. She was born on Halloween and has beautiful red hair! This is an old picture of we "three girls". We're not saying how old, you will have to guess. We were camping which we often did and our mom made us "leaf" dresses. I have never met anyone else who has worn a leaf dress before. Are we the only ones? Margaret is the one to the left, I am in the middle, and my sister Elizabeth is on the right. I love this picture!

Happy Birthday Margaret! So what is in the box? Since I couldn't get it to you on time I thought I would post it here and add to the mystery. Hope you have a wonderful day. Love ya!

Michele also sends a special hello. This is the first pumpkin she has designed. And no those aren't fangs they are her teeth!

I had to add these guys to the post too! Aren't they just too "stinkin' cute"? These ideas came by way of ChicknScratch. They were throughly enjoyed by the kids and me!

Clear Envelope Brag Book

This project (as I've heard a number of northern demonstrators say) is just "stinkin' cute"! I made this for a friend of mine who loves Halloween. She can keep yearly pictures of her children in it and enjoy it for years to come. This is also an easy and versatile project. Besides being a Brag Book you could use it for holiday recipes, journaled memories from an event, scrap book and the list goes on. The recipe for this project is: Haunting Halloween Stamp Set; Stazon Black, Summer Sun, Only Orange inks; Black, So Safron, Tangerine Tango, and Whisper White Card Stock; Haiku DSP; Pumpkin Pie Ribbon, Eyelets, Clear Embossing Powder and Clear Medium Envelopes. Thank you to my up line, Adriana, for the idea. Tutorial from SCS, Clear Envelope Brag Book
