A Couple Projects

071012
This is a get well card for a "manfriend" of mine (as opposed to a "girlfriend"). I kept the paper colors in the same family and brightened it up with a couple of  buttons from Stampin’Up!s Designer Brights Collection.

So it wouldn’t look too boring I embossed the bottom 1/2 of the card with the Square Lattice Folder & the Big Shot.

The vase image is the Button Buddies Stamp set (a fun set) and the phrase is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp set (I really like the font on the “get well”).

Crumb Cake card stock is the card base and the ribbon band; Early Espresso is the back layers and ink; and Very Vanilla is what I stamped onto.

Now for my daughter, Rachel’s, card:

When I saw this, I couldn’t resist posting it.  It made me smile. Rachel made this for one of her college friends who is studying for the MCAT right now.  She found it on Pinterest, originally done by Sara White of Southern Pest Prints.
071012a
Rachel drew it free hand and colored in the elements with Stampin’ Pastels on Naturals White card stock. Very simple and very cute!

Hope you enjoyed today's projects. Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, just contact me. Also, my Clearance Rack is “clearing out” but, there are still many great deals to be had! Take a look!

Growing Green Mojo!

What a fun sketch today at Mojomonday! Lots of possibilities.

I chose Growing Green Stamp set and Woodland Walk Designer Series paper with its coordinating colors of Crumb Cake, Garden Green and Very Vanilla. I also added in some Pear Pizzazz and River Rock colors because they fit together so perfectly with the project.

I used every image in the set in some form on this card. Some are stamped directly onto the layers and some are snipped out. The paper and stamps make a beautiful combination.. The sentiment is from the stamp set, Thoughts and Prayers.

I was so excited when I finished the card and then.... I saw...I had adhered it upside down on my card base. Cannot believe I did that!!

MojoMonday is always a good place to get your "mojo" on! Just make sure it's not upside down! Let me know if you have any questions and I so appreciate your comments so please leave one before you go. Thank you for all your comments!!

God Bless,

Wellness Wishes for Dorian

Today's project is for a little boy who got a bad case of the flue, landing him in the hospital. I'm hoping this bright card using the Celebrations Designer Series paper and Celebrations Quick Accents will do the trick. The stamp set I used for the card is Wellness Wishes. I don't know which I like more the band aid or the cute dog.

Hiding in this cute little Origami box are some Happy Meal toys. This is the same project as seen in my Wrapping 101.pdf.

I hope you enjoyed the projects for today! If you have any questions, please contact me.

God Bless,

Thoughts & Prayers ~ One of my Favorites!

I love this stamp set! The prayer tree in the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set is simple, peaceful, & just beautiful. I struggled a bit when I added the ribbon not wanting it to be frilly but loving the look it added to the card. I have three cards I will be sending to young women who have lost someone they love and am hoping a little beauty during difficult times will bring a smile to their face and a bit of peace to their hearts.
This week's color challenge at Pals Paper Arts combines Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, & Pear Pizzazz. It is a beautiful combination. I used my Stampin' Write Markers to ink the image and embellished it with a bit of gathered ribbon. A bit of texture using Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, the Crimper and Basic Pearls left me happy with my finished product.

I hope you enjoyed today's project! Make sure to stop by Pals Paper Arts to see all the wonderful projects and give the color challenge a try your self!

The new Occasions Mini catalog is available to purchase from. You can view the catalog online here or if you would like a copy mailed to you contact me and I would be happy to put one in the mail to you.

Stampin'Up! Thoughts & Prayers

Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set

This stamp set makes it easy to create "get well" and "sympathy" cards. The images are very peaceful images and sentiments very tender.

My color pallet came from Stampin'Up!'s Color Coach, a great tool to help you combine colors. I combined Cajun Craze with Old Olive and a little bit of Not Quite Navy. I softened the card up a bit by sponging the edges of Very Vanilla, and Spritzing the card base using the Color Spritzer.

Thanks for stopping by! Stop back tomorrow for the Pals Blog Hop where we'll be showcasing some great fall the Thanksgiving projects! If you have any questions please contact me and if you have time, leave a comment before you go. I love seeing who has stopped by! Have a great day!

God Bless

Nature's Nest with a Get Well Wish

When you become a Stampin'Up! Demonstrator you don't just become a member of a direct sales company; you become a member of a family. The Stampin'Up! family is a close knit group. When one of it's demonstrators or employees or their family is hurt or sick the family of Stampin'Up! demonstrators rallies around.

This card is for the daughter of a Utah demonstrator, I've gotten to know, who was in a car accident. Best wishes for a continued miraculous recovery!

The feather image is part of the Nature's Nest stamp set. The beautiful bordered rectangle was created with the Scallop Trim punch and Scallop Trim Corner punch. The instructions can be found here.

Have a great weekend!

Stampin'Up!'s Elizabeth for a Quick Card

Elizabeth is a single stamp available in the A La Carte section of the new Idea Book and Catalog. It is stunning and I can envision a number of ways to use it. Add a set like Teeny Tiny Wishes and you will be able to send cards out for many occasions.

This card uses Stampin'Up!s beautiful Textured Card Stock. I used Early Espresso and Very Vanilla with a sliver of Crumb Cake underneath. Don't you just love all the "food" names Stampin'Up! uses for their colors?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. It is very hot and muggy here in sunny Florida. I'm staying close to the A/C and my stampin' corner.

Reminders:
  • If you live local to me, plan to stop by on Monday evening for my Open House. The theme is treasure and we will be going on a treasure hunt! It's going to be fun! Click here for details and RSVP here if you would like to attend.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Very Special Get Well

A Get Well card for a very special lady!

I have been absent for awhile it seems. Today I needed a "Get Well" card for my sweet Mother-in-law who is in the hospital. The stamping community is so awesome please keep her and her husband of 50 some years in your prayers.

I created this card for a challenge at Paper Craft Planet called Tuesday Trigger Time. What inspired me from this picture were the bold colors against the black and for some reason the gray textured lines on the white hibiscus stood out to me.

I created this easel card using Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, and Going Gray card stocks. I used all punches to create the flowers. The large flower is the Fancy Flower Extra-large, the medium flower is part of the Boho Blossom punch and the small flower is one of the Itty Bitty Shapes punches. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (as you have heard me say before,I love this set) and punched out with one of the Boho Blossom flowers.

The easel base has a piece of Going Gray card stock which was run through the Crimper and edged with the Scallop Edge punch. I tied a piece of the Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. This is really beautiful ribbon and I love the color!

Hope you enjoyed today's project. Thanks for stopping by.

Pals Fond Farewell Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Pretty Pals June Hop! This month we are saying good bye to some of our old friends, the 30 colors retiring in Stampin'Up!'s Color Renovation. If you hopped over from Margaret Moody's site, www.margaretmoody.typepad.com, I'm stop number 17 on the Pals Hop.

You are in for a treat today! All 17 Stampin'Up! demonstrators have come up with some amazing projects using the retiring colors. If you should hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-Up and you'll be back on track.

In honor of the retiring colors, we're offering Blog Candy at each of the 17 stops along the hop. Each Stampin' Pretty Pal has a specific question for you to leave a comment about. Answer every one and have 17 chances to win some great Stampin'Up! goodies!

This vase is bursting with flowers using the Simple Flower and Flower Burst Embosslit Dies and the Big Shot. My mom tried very hard to teach me "flower arranging" but never using paper crafted flowers. I chose to use retiring colors from the Bold Brights family, YoYo Yellow, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac, Brillant Blue, and Tempting Turquoise. Mingled in amongst the flowers are some Glorious Green leaves punched out with the 5-Petal Flower punch.

The vase was created using a piece of Vellum card stock that is 5" along the top and 3" along the bottom. I scored the two sides at 1/8", bent them back and attached them to a piece of Whisper White card stock using Glue Dots (only along the sides). The vase is 3-D and not flush against the card. Before scoring it, I took Ballet Blue ink and sponged it on the Vellum to imitate water. Behind the vase I attached small strips of Glorious Green stems. To give my flowers some depth I used Glue Dots and Stampin' Dimensionals.

My cute little envelope was created using the Scallop Envelop Die and Tempting Turquoise card stock. I had a bit of difficulty getting the envelope sides to adhere and found Tombow Glue to work perfectly. The note was created using Sincere Salutations inked in Chocolate Chip and Pocket Silhouettes. The flower stems are inked in Old Olive and the retiring colors, Tempting Turquoise, YoYo Yellow, & Orchid Opulence. I then used the same three retiring colors and punched out flowers with the Itty Bitty Shapes pack dotting each flower center with Crystal Effects.

Now for some Blog Candy!
This Fond Farewell Card Kit includes everything you need to make a few cards. Included in this kit are 10 retired colors card stock bases, 2 stamps, 1 black ink spot, 5 ~ 1 yard pieces of ribbon, and a mixture of retiring buttons, clips, and brads. The plastic case is used for display and is not part of the Blog Candy.

For your chance to win all the above goodies, please leave me a comment at the end of this post by 3:00pm CST (that's 4pm for all you Easterners), Friday, June 11th, at which time I'll choose a random winner. Shipping is to US only.

My questions is:
  • How often do you get to stamp or create?
  • I'll start : I stamp or create 4-5 times a week. This week is a busy week for me so I think I will be stamping every day ~ yeah!! Now it's your turn!
I will announce the winner of my blog candy here on my blog, Sunday, June 13th, 2010. The winner will have 48 hours to contact me after their name is announced.

More inspiring ideas and blog candy awaits you at Liz Hughes diypapercreations.typepad.com, stop number one on the Fond Farewell Pals Hop. Hop on over and thanks for stopping (hopping) by!!

Wrapping 101 #11 - Tea Time!

Even though I live in Florida, the flu and other bugs have been quickly making the rounds. At my daughter's school the other day, the front office was down to one healthy person and classes were half full and dropping.

Sometimes when you are sick there is nothing better than hot tea and honey! These little tea holders would make someone's day I'm sure. This is an easy gift to make that tells someone who's sick, you care. Use your favorite tea, dress up the tea holder with your favorite paper and you're good to go.

I added a little Crystal Effects to the coffee and steam. You may not be able to see it but, it's a nice addition.

All project information including recipes and instructions will be made available at the end of the challenge. Also, if you have an idea you would like to share, check out this post for more information on participating.

Check back tomorrow for more Wrapping 101!

Stampin'Up! Medallion: Clean and Simple

This Medallion stamp is absolutely beautiful! Use it as a background on the entire card, stamp it coming off a corner, emboss it, change the center, color it multiple colors,...There is so much you can do with just this one stamp. It's not an expensive stamp, $17.95, and in my estimation its well worth every dollar. This is not a stamp I own (yet) but is a sample I received in an Image Swap with other demonstrators. Another perk to becoming a demonstrator with Seasons Of Stamping; we're a very sharing community.

This card was created for the "Clean & Simple" challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. It has very few layers, is pretty simple in design, and can be recreated very easily. Simple is often the best!

The color combination I put together is Natural White, Dusty Durango, and Bashful Blue. The blue was a bit risky but, I like how it turned out. For the life of me I could not get my camera to pick up the Dusty Durango color it kept turning it more red than brown. It really is Dusty Durango!

And remember only 6 more days left to take advantage of the $85 Mini Starter kit from Stampin'Up!. Contact me for more information.

God Bless,

Mojo Monday Petal Pizzazz

Here is my take on the Mojo Monday sketch. It definitely reminds me of fall. My lesson learned with this card is, if you mess up make it look like you meant to do it! I won't tell you what I messed up because.... I meant to do it!!
Petal Pizzazz is a great stamp set providing you with a lot of options. The only thing you would need to add to this set are some phrases. The papers, ink, and ribbon are all new In Colors. I really love these three colors together!
If you would like to create your own cards using the Petal Pizzazz stamp set see the recipe below.

God Bless,

Mojo Monday: Autumn Days

I know it's not fall yet but I'm lovin' this set, Autumn Days and the new In Colors! This is my take on the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Autumn Days is a beautiful new set in the "All Natural" section of our new catalog.
