Happy Easter!

I've got a box of Easter goodies to accompany these cards headed up to my sons at University of Florida. I wish I could give it to them in person but, this is the week before final exams. On the bright side, I'll be seeing them next week!!

This is a 5 1/2" square card. I used the Nursery Suite Specialty paper as my starting point and added Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze and Regal Rose colors in creating this pastel Easter card.

The Big Shot got a lot of use in creating this card. The center scallop, the Easter eggs, the ric rac and the bottom border are all dies. The sentiment is from All Holidays, a great foundation stamp set and the frames are from the new Four Frames stamp set available during the Sneak Peak promotion going on now! The final touch was our beautiful Crumb Cake Seam binding! I love our seam binding!!

I hope you enjoyed today's project.

Beginning Rubber Stamping & Card Making Class

Join me the first Sunday of the month from 2-4pm for Beginning Rubber Stamping & Card Making Class. Each month we create 4 projects; a Clean & Simple layout card, a Special Technique card, a Unique Fold card, and a 3 dimensional project. Here are three of the projects we completed yesterday.

This first project has no layers. How quick and easy is that!! Use any stamp set to make a collage in the corner. I used the Vintage Vogue stamp set in Not Quite Navy, Rich Razzleberry, and Garden Green stamped on a Naturals White card base. Next free hand your lines to make a border. The large Clear Block F is perfect for stamping a collage of images.

This project is one Shanon West from SU showed us at the Orlando Regionals. It's an "emboss resist" technique and has an Andy Warhol look to it. Use Glossy Card stock for the "emboss resist" to get the best results. The cupcake and sentiment is from the Got Treats stamp set. It's embossed in White Stampin' Emboss powder. I used Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Melon Mambo Classic ink sponged on with a Sponge Dauber and buffed off with a paper towel. Each cupcake was punched out using the 1 3/8" Square punch

This last card is my favorite. Last week on Splitcoast Stampers the bargello technique was highlighted. I used the new Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper to create this card. It is beautiful paper! You can view the instructions to create a bargello card here. My hint in making this card is to use plenty of adhesive when you first lay down your strips to keep all the "pieces parts" together. The label is from the new stamp set Four Frames. This new paper and stamp set will be available in the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog coming out in July but, you can also get it a little early! See below.

Our next class is Sunday, May 1. We will again be making 4 projects:
  1. Clean & Simple layout card
  2. Special Technique card
  3. Unique Fold card
  4. 3 Dimensionl project
The cost is $15 and includes all supplies. Prepay securely with Paypal below to reserve your spot! RSVP & prepay deadline April 25th. Contact me if you have any questions! I hope you can join me!

God Bless,
Spring Is Blossoming Promotion

Spring & Easter Star in the March Pals Hop

Welcome to the March Pals Hop! We are showcasing Spring and Easter projects for your inspiration and enjoyment. You've arrived from my "pal" Linda Callahan's blog, Stampin Seasons. I'm stop number 5 on the March Pals Hop and I'm thrilled you've arrived!

My project owes a big "Thank You" to Regina, the Stampin' Bean, who posted a flower basket a year ago which I've turned into an Easter Egg basket. She wrote clear instructions to follow; I've also written how I created it here:
  • I began with a 4 1/4" wide x 5 1/2"tall Crumb Cake card base.
  • I drew a template of the basket and handle on another piece of card stock and cut it out. I then traced it on my Crumb Cake card base.
  • I cut out the basket front and back of the card leaving about 1" at the top for the card fold.
  • To make the basket weave, I traced and cut 2 basket bottoms out of Crumb Cake Textured Card stock. I cut one basket bottom in 1/2" strips vertically and the other basket bottom in 1/2" strips horizontally.
  • I sponged Crumb Cake Classic Ink on the edges of all the strips and basket handle using a Sponge Dauber (a favorite tool or mine) giving my basket dimension.
  • Beginning with the bottom horizontal piece, I began adhering the vertical pieces to the horizontal piece; alternating them on the front and back.
  • I then continued to weave the rest of the horizontal pieces into the vertical pieces. (You can trim any irregular edges at the end.)
  • Before adding all my eggs to the basket, I took a 1" strip of Garden Green card stock and snipped a border of grass.
  • The eggs were made out of the smallest oval in the Ovals Die using the Sweet & Sour Specialty paper.
  • I layered the eggs in the basket using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is from the Level 2 Hostess set, Something To Celebrate, in the new Occasions Mini catalog; inked in Rose Red Classic ink and punch out with the Modern Label punch.
  • Rose Red Seam Binding completed my basket with a bow!
I hope you enjoyed my Easter project! It is headed to Virginia soon to wish my sweet mom a Happy Easter. Contact me if you have any questions and I always love reading your thoughts on the daily projects so please, leave one before you go!

Now it's time to "hop" along for more inspiring ideas from my "pal", Mary Fish at Stampin Pretty. She's stop number 6 on the March Pals Hop. Thanks for "hopping" by!

March Pals Blog Hop- Hop into Spring!

Whew, three weeks was a long time to be gone from stamping! Thanks for your encouraging words while I was absent. I'm thrilled to be back and participating in the March Pals Blog Hop.

If you arrived from Mike Funke's website, Stampin' Style, I'm stop #3 on the March Pals Blog Hop and happy you stopped by! I hope you enjoy the entire PALs Hop and make your way all the way around! This group of Stampin'Up! Demonstrators has put together some wonderful Spring and Easter projects to spark you creativity. Should you become lost along the way you can access the entire March Pals Hop lineup here!

My Easter card was created using the Big Shot, Stampin'Up! punches, and the new Shades of Spring Designer Series paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

  • The bowl or basket was cut from the Oval Scallop Frame Die and Chocolate Chip card stock cut in half and edged using the Scallop Trim Border punch.
  • The eggs were created using the Wide Oval punch. The Shades of Spring paper worked perfectly for the background and some of the eggs.
  • The card stock eggs were decorated with 1/4" Circle punched polka dots and ric rac punched with the Scallop Edge punch and the Pinking Hearts Border punch.
  • The sentiment is from the All Holiday stamp set stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.
  • See the recipe below for a complete list of supplies used.
That's all for Seasons Of Stamping. The March Pals Blog Hop continues with Anne Beale Yancey aka Mukibug. Hop on over for more great projects to bring a bit of Spring to your stamping projects!

Easter Baskets: Big Shot Texture Plates, Big Shot Daisies #2

These adorable baskets decorated our table at Easter. Each basket is a sheet of 6x6 card stock textured with the Big Shot texture plates. Before using the texture plates I sprayed the paper lightly with alcohol which helped to imprint the design. Each sheet was then scored in thirds on both sides and cut on 2 opposite sides. Fold, tape and your done! It doesn't get any easier than that! The flowers were cut from leftover scraps using the Big Shot Daisies #2 Die. I mixed up all the colors and ended up with really bright and springy table decorations. Our guests loved them! Next time you need table decorations, give these easy baskets a try.

Contact me if you need the basket template or supplies to create these. You still have two more weeks left in the April promotion.

God Bless,
Martha

He Is Risen!

When Peter and John went to the tomb, they found the burial strips in a pile and the linen cloth that had covered Jesus' head folded and placed seperate from the burial strips. It was the custom back then that if the master, having his meal, crumpled his napkin and laid it on the table it meant he was done. But, if the master folded his napkin and placed it on the table before he left it meant, leave his food, he was coming back. Jesus folded the head covering and laid it where his body had been, not crumpled with the burial clothes. He is coming back! Just as he has said throughout the New Testament. Jesus has always kept His promises. So, when will He come back? Probably a better question is what will we do until He comes back?

Happy Easter
Martha

On Board So Tweet Chip Board, Good Morning Sunshine DSP, Bigz Dies Flower Daisies #2

This project is straight out of the Spring/Summer Catalog. It's easy and makes a fun table decoration. I love how the birds and daisies turned out! It fit perfectly in a container my sister-in-law , Wendy, made for us many Easters ago. This project used less than a sheet of On board So Tweet Chip board, leaving many pieces for other projects. These little birds would look great decorating many things. Hope you give this project a try!

Order this month and receive a free item from page 208 in the Spring/Summer Catalog free for every $40 purchased from the Mini Occasions catalog. Contact me for more information on the April promotion and on this project.

God Bless,
Martha

Easter Card: Loads of Love Accessories

Here is a card I created last Easter for a class. This week I've put a hold on stamping projects to work on the business of stamping, something I didn't do my first year as a Stampin'Up! demonstrator. I've been working with Stamping Is My Business' BSCG(Business Stampers Coaching Group). For all you demonstrators, it is awesome! In less than a week, I have done more for my business than probably my entire last year. Because I'm spending a lot of time focusing on the business aspect, my projects have had to take a back seat. I hope to have new photographs up by this weekend. Thanks for your patience. If you are a fellow demonstrator or interested in the how to's of a stamping business check out the Business Stampers website on my blog. You won't be disappointed. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

God Bless,
Martha
