Plain & Fancy

Today I am posting the same card in two versions. I used the stamp set En Francais for the layered backgrounds. This set has been around as long as I've been a demonstrator. It makes a beautiful background for all kinds of projects.
The Secret Garden stamp set was used to create the flowers. The flower in the first card was created in two layers and the flower in the second card was embossed in gold.  Best of Love was used for the first card's sentiment and Itty Bitty Banners was embossed for the the second card's sentiment.
The first card has more distressing than the second and most of the edges have been sponged with Baked Brown Sugar ink
.
The second card has a bit more bling to it, though the picture may not show it.  I used the Brushed Gold card stock for the bottom layer and the Floral Frames Framelit layer. All of the stamped images were embossed in Gold. Even the Tea Lace Paper Doily got some embossing. The En Francais piece was embossed along the edges to distress it a bit.

HINT: I wanted gold embellishments so the pearls were dipped in VersaMark then into Gold Stampin' Emboss powder. It worked great!

Hope you enjoyed todays projects. Which one do you like better? If you have a moment, please leave your comments and tell me what you think. I always look forward to reading them.

Sale-a-bration begins next week. I will have the on-line catalog up tomorrow. It is a great way to get Free product for every $50 you spend. It is also a great time to join the Stampin'Up! family.

 Until next time!

Awash With Flowers ~ Spring Is On Its Way!

Today's card was created by my friend and upline, Adriana Benitez at Escape2Stamp. It almost looks like the flowers are moving! It's just beautiful and a perfect set for spring. She used the Awash with Flowers stamp set, Stampin'Up!s Water color Crayons, and lots of beautiful Rich Razzleberry colors. The sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set. You can check out all the details on her website here.

Thanks for stopping by! On the east coast, I know alot of the men will be glued to the superbowl of NASCAR, the Daytona 500. I'm thinking this is a great time for stamping!!

We are out of town visiting our sons and staying put this afternoon just to watch it on TV. Wish I had packed my stamping supplies. Is there anyone near Gainesville, Florida? I'll be over! I did pack my Stampin' Success (the magazine we get as Stampin'Up! demonstrators) and my catalogs. I can always find something new in these catalogs even though I've seen them 100 times. They always inspire me!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Awash with Flowers

I received this card from my upline, Adriana at Escape2Stamp. I'm calling it a variation on the Joy Fold card. I love the layout and the simplicity of the image from the Awash with Flowers stamp set. The colors are So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla combined with a piece of Woodland Walk Designer Series paper and I'm not sure the name of the other piece. The Scallop Trim Border punch and Basic Pearls add just the right amount of embellishments to a beautiful card!

Well that's it for today. My boys are headed home today and my daughter tomorrow!! Yeah! I've been stocking the refrigerator and cleaning house all day. Somehow that seems a little ironic to be cleaning up for your kids! I'm expecting lots of laundry too! Another irony! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving,

Recipe:
Stamps: Awash with Flowers,
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Very Vanilla card stock, Woodland Walk Designer Series paper, mystery paper
Misc: Scallop Trim Border punch, Basic Pearls

Stampin'Up! Folk Flowers

CC271 & SC281

I guess by now you know how much I love Stampin'Up!s stencils! I combined two challenges for this project; the color challenge at splitcoast ~ Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, So Saffron and today's sketch challenge at splitcoast. My first reaction to these three colors was ~ argh! that Dusty Durango just doesn't fit! In the end, it all came together.

I used the Folk Flower stencil which matches the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper. I sponged the stencil with VersaMark first and then the three challenge colors; going from lightest to darkest. I then sprinkled a small amount of Iridescent Ice on top and embossed it. I think the So Saffron is a bit heavy. It might look better with some sponging along the edges or the stencil inked on a neutral color. I love the mix of colors though in the image!

Our family has moved from graduation, graduation party, to stomach bug~ argh again!! but today the sun is shinning a bit brighter here and everyone is out of the house! I'm enjoying the quiet and uninterrupted stamping time!!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed today's project. The stencil I used today was in the Occasions Mini catalog but is still available along with a few other items from the last two mini catalogs. You can view the "Carry Over" list here. Contact me if you have any questions and while you're here, let me know what you thought of today's project.

God Bless,

Color Throw Down Challenge #50

The colors for this challenge were Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, and Kiwi Kiss. I had some trouble with my mojo so I ended up with a pretty simple card.

I love the grass stamp from Inspired By Nature. It's makes a great background. My other favorites are Textured Card Stock, Oval All stamp set, and the Oval Scallop and Large Oval punches that go with it.

This card took me about 30 minutes at the most. You could change the sentiment and have a card for most any occasion! Stampin'Up makes card creating so easy. Contact me if you have any questions or would like to place an order.

God Bless,
